Changelog
What shipped, when.
A simple list, newest first. Updated whenever something ships — not on a schedule.
- iOS 1.2July 2026
Lemnly for iPhone and iPad
- The native app is built and in App Store review — a real iPhone and iPad download when it clears, not a home-screen shortcut.
- A reading-first home screen: your daily review, your progress, and the book you’re part-way through, in that order.
- Onboarding starts you in a book rather than a setup form.
- The reader adds words continuously without breaking the page, checks recall on the exact form you met, and reopens exactly where you stopped.
- Six study modes: “auto” now starts a new word in an easy format and works up to typing it from memory.
- v0.12June 2026
Bodhi joins, and reading gets stickier
- Meet Bodhi — Lemnly’s reading companion, now across the app and this site.
- “Lock it in”: a short recall check at the end of each reading session, so the words you just added stick before you close the book.
- Reading Mode reopens exactly where you left off, and the home screen picks up your current book.
- Reading-first onboarding — your very first session starts with a book, not a setup form.
- v0.11June 2026
Reading Mode, refined
- Add words continuously while you read — the translation popover no longer interrupts the page.
- Recall now checks the exact form you met in the text, not only the dictionary lemma.
- Faster, jump-free page turns and no layout shift while a chapter loads.
- v0.10May 2026
PDF import + Reading Mode
- PDF import: drop in a PDF and Lemnly extracts the text, then runs the same import preview as everything else.
- Reading Mode launches — read the parsed text in-app, tap a word to translate, tap again to add it to your deck.
- Words already in your library dim into the background so your eye goes straight to the new ones.
- v0.9May 2026
Shared vocabulary cache
- Words already labelled by another learner import instantly — gloss and example sentence included, no AI cost.
- The cache is keyed by (language, lemma) and stores only the lemma, its gloss and an example — never anything that identifies you or what you were reading.
- v0.8April 2026
FSRS, in both directions
- FSRS is the default scheduler, with separate forward and reverse state for every card.
- Mixed-direction study sessions — recognition and recall get their own curves.
- v0.7April 2026
Public decks
- Subscribe to another learner’s deck; it stays linked and updates when the author improves it.
- Edit any card and it quietly unlinks — from then on, that card is yours.
- v0.6March 2026
Add from anywhere
- Photo capture: snap a printed page and Lemnly reads the text for you to tap.
- Voice input: say a word out loud and it lands in your bulk-add queue.
- Five study modes — flashcard, type, listening, multiple-choice and letter-jumble.
